About Audrey

Emerging tech leader
My name is Audrey Hutabarat and I'm a Southeast Asian, London-based tech operator passionate about driving growth in startups and transforming traditional industries through innovation. Having lived in three countries and specialising in emerging markets, I bring a global perspective, combining strategic insight with hands-on operational expertise. At Eleos (Fuel Ventures and Founders Factory portfolio company), the UK’s first fully online provider of embedded income protection and life insurance, I focus on building strategic B2B partnerships and accelerating growth, disrupting an industry dominated by legacy systems like Lloyd’s of London.
Drawing on lessons from countries like China and Indonesia, where rapid technological adoption has disrupted entrenched practices, I challenge outdated norms in the UK insurance market. My work helps Eleos achieve its mission of selling one million policies by 2030, following the path paved by Insurtech unicorns that have redefined the industry.
I built my foundation as a tech operator at Antler, a global early-stage VC firm, supporting early-stage founders and scaling mentorship programs across 25+ markets. My experience at the London Venture Capital Network, King’s Angel Network, and edtech startup Proof of Knowledge (PoK) deepened my understanding of the interplay between investors, operators, and consumers. Highlights include co-hosting the London Venture Capital Summit with 800+ attendees, raising sponsorship funding by 80% at KAAN, and generating 120+ leads for PoK at Bett 2024.
Beyond my work, I’m passionate about championing female founders, operators, and consumers. I’m always eager to connect with like-minded professionals to transform financial protection and create a more inclusive UK tech ecosystem.
